Luke's baptism

On Saturday, November 1, 2008 Luke Scott Pryor was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was baptized and given the gift of the Holy Ghost by his father Scott Keith Pryor. There were lots of family members there and we enjoyed a very fun get together at Scott & EmmaLee's home afterwards. What a joy it is for us to see our grandchildren growing up with sweet, new and growing testimonies of the true church of Jesus Christ.
One thing I remember about my own baptism was in the car going to the Rexburg Tabernacle, (the building where the Teton Flood Museum is now) and having a boy who my Dad was also going to baptize say he was going to dive into the font. I told him he could not do that and thought he was so dumb and I was so smart becuase I had been to my brother's baptism and knew that you did not dive into the font.

Even More Halloween

I will soon figure out how to add a slide show but no time to learn that today so for now here's just a bunch of posts so I can include all the pictures. THANKS everyone for all your help with the fun foods, for bringing crafts and stories (even though we didn't get to all of them) Thanks Brittany for the original story you wrote and read to us. I saved your original. Did you save the one you typed on the computer? If so where did you save it?

More Halloween

I couldn't get more than four pictures in a single post so here's a few more.

Halloween

When Valerie said they were coming for Halloween so her kids could have a "real" Halloween experience, I had to laugh. To her Halloween in Driggs just wasn't "real". Having you here certainly made Halloween more fun for us. Thank you Brittany for such a sweet note telling me all the fun you had while you were here. Here are some pictures of our "real" Halloween. Pictures of the fun Halloween foods we had are on Melissa's blog.

Sometimes We Crash

After my first post I received the cutest reprimand from Spencer about forgetting his birthday. I had initially listed his birthday then as I was rearranging things to include Luke & Alex's baptisms the blog monster must have eaten Spencer's birthday. I could never forget Spencer and Alex's birthdays because they are the only members of my November club. Don't ask me what exactly that means. In his reprimand to make up for my "crash" he said I should send him "copious amounts of gifts" on his birthday. I haven't yet looked up what "copious amounts of gifts" means - do you think Webster could help me out with that one? Or if any of you can help me with my illiteracy about copious amounts of gifts I would appreciate it.
Of course I will help Spencer celebrate his birthday (remember it's on November 12) After all it is his first "post college" birthday, his first birthday as Preston's Dad, his first birthday in Layton, his first birthday as Dr. Turner. Wow we have a lot to celebrate.
Can anyone tell me how to send the blog monster into time out for eating Spencer's birthday from my post?

We all crash doing one thing or another. Thank you Spencer for letting me joke around about your sledding crash. It was a lame effort to cover up my "crash" at missing your birth date on the family calendar. But you'll notice in the last picture he survived the crash and hopefully I'll survive my crash as well.

Can you all remember how cold it was the morning we took off to ride snow mobiles at our reunion in the Soda Springs Mountains. After we got back to the lodge and went sledding Spencer took several pictures of the ice crystals that had formed on the weeds. I love these pictures. Thank you Spencer for always sharing your many talents with us. I don't know how I got the writing on the right side of that picture. This blogging stuff is more complicated than I thought it would be. I'm getting better though. You should have seen the mess I made on my first attempt at this write-up and inserting these pictures. Now maybe I'm ready to do our Williamsburg trip - maybe.

Our First Post

!!! YOU ARE EACH A BLESSING IN OUR LIVES!!!

We Did It! We are official bloggers. Okay, Valerie & EmmaLee now it's your turn to get one set up for your families so we can all keep in touch again. If I can do it you can too. I miss our Fast Sunday letters so maybe now this can take their place.

This first post is just a test but check back again soon to see our pictures and a brief write up of our recent trip to Williamsburg, Virginia.
Thanks to all of you for being so wonderful. I hear unpleasant stories from other families about their attempts to bring their adult children together and I feel bad for them. I love spending time with all of you and whenever we're together I feel such joy and seldom if any contention. It is my prayer it stays that way forever.
